Xtreme HD — Solid 90% of the Time, Struggles During Peak Hours

Xtreme HD IPTV is one of the most popular providers in the IPTV space, and for good reason during normal hours. On a Tuesday afternoon, the experience was nearly indistinguishable from UltraOnlineHub — channels loaded fast, 4K worked, VOD library was massive (80,000+ titles, the largest we tested). But we didn’t test on a Tuesday afternoon. We tested during Saturday 9 PM Ligue 1, and that is where things fell apart.

During PSG vs Marseille, we counted 4 buffering moments in the first half alone — each lasting 3-5 seconds. The second half was slightly better with 2 buffers. On the SFR connection in Lyon, it was worse: 7 total buffering moments. The traceroute showed their server was in Amsterdam — 35ms ping from Paris, 42ms from Lyon. Not terrible, but noticeably worse than UltraOnlineHub’s 8ms. All TNT channels were present. beIN Sports worked in 1080p but 4K was inconsistent during peak hours. France 3 regional variants were hit or miss — Normandie was there, but Bretagne was missing entirely. EPG was accurate for 5 out of 7 days — on 2 days, the beIN Sports schedule was off by 1-2 hours.

Support took 45 minutes to respond at 2 PM and didn’t respond at all to our 11 PM message. The VOD library is genuinely impressive — the largest of any provider we tested — but if you are primarily watching live French TV and sports, the peak-hour buffering is a real problem.

IPTV Trends — The Budget Option With Budget Problems

At €12/month, IPTV Trends is the cheapest provider we tested. And it shows. Not in the channel count — they have 12,000+ channels, which sounds impressive until you realize that number includes a lot of dead or duplicate streams. The real issue is the French channel quality.

All 25 TNT channels were present, which is good. beIN Sports 1-3 worked, but beIN Sports 4 through 10 were either dead or constantly buffering — we couldn’t get a stable 4K stream on any of them. During PSG vs Marseille, we gave up after 12 buffering moments in the first 30 minutes and switched to the 1080p stream, which was more stable but still buffered 3 more times. Canal+ worked in HD but 4K was unavailable.

The EPG was the worst we tested — only accurate 3 out of 7 days, and for French channels specifically, the schedule was often completely wrong. France 3 regional variants were a disaster: only France 3 Île-de-France worked. Normandie, Provence-Alpes, and Bretagne were all missing. VOD section was decent but loading times were 10-15 seconds per title — 3x slower than UltraOnlineHub. Support responded in 2 hours, which is acceptable but not great for a live TV service.

CaliptoStreams — Better for Movies Than for Ligue 1

CaliptoStreams has a reputation for having one of the best VOD libraries in the IPTV space, and that reputation is deserved. Their French movie selection was genuinely impressive — newer titles available in both VF (French audio) and VOSTFR (subtitled), with good quality. But this is a list about IPTV for France, and for live French TV, CaliptoStreams is mediocre.

TNT channels all worked, but TF1 and M6 took 6-8 seconds to load — every other provider loaded them in under 2 seconds. beIN Sports 1-4 worked in 1080p but 4K was unstable. During Lyon vs Monaco, we experienced 5 buffering moments, and the stream quality visibly dropped from 1080p to what looked like 720p during the second half — likely server load balancing kicking in. France 3 regional variants were partially there: Normandie and PACA worked, but Bretagne and Pays de la Loire were missing. EPG was accurate 5 out of 7 days. Support responded in 30 minutes during the day but was unavailable at night.

Hypersonic TV — The Fastest Setup, But Channels Keep Going Down

Hypersonic TV delivered our M3U link and Xtream Codes login within 30 seconds of payment — the fastest activation of any provider. But speed of setup doesn’t matter when the channels keep disappearing. Over our 7-day test, beIN Sports 1 went down twice — once for 20 minutes on a Wednesday evening, once for 45 minutes on Saturday afternoon right before the Ligue 1 match. Both times it came back, but if you are settling in to watch a match and the channel drops, that is unacceptable.

When channels were working, quality was decent — 1080p on most French channels, 4K on beIN Sports 1-2 when available. TNT channels were all there. But France 3 regional variants were a mess: the EPG showed all of them, but clicking on France 3 Bretagne loaded France 3 Île-de-France instead. This happened consistently across both TiviMate and IPTV Smarters, so it is a server-side issue, not an app issue. During Nice vs Lille, we had 3 buffering moments — not terrible, but not great for a provider that charges €15.99/month. EPG was accurate 4 out of 7 days.

Kemo IPTV — Surprisingly Good at 3 AM, Useless at 9 PM

Kemo IPTV is an odd one. If you test it at 3 PM on a Wednesday, you would think it is a top-tier provider. Channels load fast, 4K works, VOD is snappy. But the moment French prime time hits (8-10 PM), the quality collapses. During PSG vs Marseille at 9 PM, the beIN Sports 4K stream was completely unwatchable — it buffered every 30-45 seconds for the entire first half. We switched to 1080p and it was better but still buffered 6 times. The traceroute showed their server bouncing between two locations — sometimes resolving to a French IP, sometimes to a German one. This inconsistency explains the unpredictable quality.

TNT channels were all present and stable even during peak hours — the issue seems to be specifically with premium sports channels that attract high concurrent viewership. France 3 regional variants: only Île-de-France worked. Canal+ worked in HD but 4K was unavailable. EPG was accurate 4 out of 7 days. At €14/month, it is priced like a premium provider but performs like a budget one during the hours that matter most.

Necro IPTV — We Wouldn’t Recommend It to Our Worst Enemy

We included Necro IPTV because it appears on a lot of “best IPTV for France” lists, which tells you everything you need to know about those lists. Out of 25 TNT channels, France 2, France 3, and France 5 were pixelated and audio-desynced — like watching a 240p YouTube video from 2008. beIN Sports 1 worked in 720p at best — 4K was not available on any channel. During Nice vs Lille, the stream dropped entirely in the 67th minute and didn’t come back for 8 minutes.

The M3U link took 4 hours to arrive after payment (every other provider was under 5 minutes). The channel list showed 18,000+ channels, but at least 30% of the French channels we clicked on were either dead, loading infinitely, or playing the wrong content (clicking on Canal+ loaded a Ukrainian news channel — twice). France 3 regional variants didn’t exist in the playlist at all. EPG was wrong 5 out of 7 days. VOD section had French movies but most took 20+ seconds to load, and 3 out of 20 we tested failed to play at all. Support never responded to either of our messages. At €11/month, it is cheap — but you get less than what you pay for.
